Michigan Seamless Tube free machining steel tubing includes all the popular resulfurized and rephosphorized grades. Users can realize a definite economic advantage between comparable free machining bar and XTROCUT tubing when manufacturing parts that require hole drilling. Production time is improved, tooling is cheaper, waste is minimized. The bottom line is that costs are reduced. In addition to the XTROCUT line, special chemistries that enhance machinability can be developed by Michigan Seamless Tube experienced Technical Services Engineers.

WHY XTROCUT?
Time after time, industry applications have proven that you can choose XTROCUT over bar stock and improve machinability and the quality of the finished part. With the "hole" already in place, expensive time-consuming drilling stations can be replaced with less expensive faster boring operations. Coolants can be directed to the inside as well as outside surface. Using XTROCUT for through-bored parts means less scrap, more parts per hour and improved profit.

Extensive metal movement during hot forming coupled with cold drawing work through a die and over a mandrel provides precise control over mechanical properties and orderly distribution of sulfide inclusions giving XTROCUT excellent lubricity. Heat generated during machining dissipates quickly helping control build-up and slough-off on tool edges. Tools run cooler, stay sharp longer and surface finish is improved considerably.
